January is School Board Recognition/Appreciation Month and an opportunity for local schools and communities to celebrate and honor school board members for their dedication and service.
"We are very thankful to have a school board comprised of community members that are fully invested in Blue Ridge ISD students," said Dr. Darrell Floyd, Superintendent of Blue Ridge ISD. "School Board Recognition Month is a time to say thank you to board members for selflessly volunteering their time and talents that benefit all BRISD students, faculty, and staff."
School board members across the state develop policies and make tough decisions regarding complex educational and social issues that impact the entire community. BRISD school board members bear responsibility for oversight of an annual budget of $17 million, over 1,000 students, and 150 employees.
"School board members are the foundation for all decisions that affect student success." Said Floyd. "We are incredibly thankful for their service to BRISD."
Please join us in celebrating, recognizing, and appreciating the following list of dedicated men and women currently serving on our Blue Ridge ISD School Board: Shelly Enloe, John Gaulden, Kevin Dauster, Gary Lillard, Phillip Pulliam, Scott Cessna, and Matt Grier.
