Greetings to all Blue Ridge ISD Faculty, Staff, Students, Administration, Parents, and Community Members.
I am excited to begin my tenure as the new Superintendent of Blue Ridge ISD. I look forward to building on the previous successes of the district and pressing on to even greater accomplishments in the future.
You can expect me to: ensure that all children have the same opportunity to learn and to ensure that students all deserve the same quality of schooling (not just the same quantity).
You will see me: investing significant amounts of my time toward student success efforts; working cooperatively rather than competitively to reach common goals; creating open lines of communication; trusting in my colleagues while instilling in them the drive and desire to stretch their limits and to exceed the level of their previous achievements; listening well; ensuring financial stability for the district while providing the highest quality of education for our kids; involving and informing the district and the community fully about school issues; ensuring excellent instructional leadership at all levels; striving to continue to improve our physical plant; creating a focus, direction, and a setting of high expectations for the district (then communicating those expectations on a continual basis); ensuring firm, fair, and consistent discipline throughout the district; working diligently to create a very positive climate and morale in our schools for our students, parents, employees, and community members; and recognizing excellence when it is accomplished.
In addition, I will be working closely with our school board to: set goals for the district, do whatever is necessary to achieve those goals, and then celebrate the achievements of those goals.
I have only three non-negotiables that I live by as an administrator: always keep the students’ best interest at heart at all times, be professional at all times, and when problems arise…follow the chain of command in resolving those problems.
Thank you for this leadership opportunity. I look forward to meeting everyone and seeing our students learn, grow, and succeed!
