On Thursday Dr. Bermudez’s math class started exploring combining like terms in algebraic expressions using algebra tiles. Students modeled the expressions with the tiles and determined which terms could be put together based on the tiles. Concrete models deepen the level of understanding for students as they work toward more difficult concepts. Dr. B’s students rocked the lesson!

Mrs. Mackey's classes had a great experience using the new microscopes to explore pond water organisms, tying it back to our lesson on edible cells. Thank you to the BR Education Foundation for providing the grant money that made this hands-on learning opportunity possible.

Mrs. Morgan's 8th grade classes celebrated acts of kindness week by having a CKH Mail Day. Throughout the year, students write notes of kindness and encouragement to their peers. As one student said, "Mail day is the best day!" because they finally get to open their mailboxes and spend time reading their cards and letters.

" As we celebrated Counselors Appreciation Week last week, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our incredible counselor at BRMS. Ms. Palitza dedication, guidance, and support makes a world of difference in our students' lives every day. She is the unsung hero behind the scenes, always ready to lend an ear, offer advice, and help navigate the ups and downs of adolescence. Thank you and we appreciate you more than words can express!" #CounselorsAppreciationWeek #MiddleSchoolPride
