All Blue Ridge ISD schools will be open today, Wednesday, Feb. 19, following a normal schedule. Buses will run as usual, and students and staff should arrive at their regular times.

There are some great opportunities to see Blue Ridge Basketball this week. Boys and Girls head to Leonard tomorrow night and then return home Friday to take on Pottsboro for Senior Night. After months of meetings and a thorough evaluation of the district's immediate facility needs due to growth, the Long Range Facility Planning Committee—comprised of parents, community members, educators, and district employees—presented their findings and recommendations to the BRISD School Board at their regular meeting on Tuesday, January 21st.
The BRISD Board of Trustees approved the committees recommendation by calling a bond election for a total amount of $59,470,000, to be held on May 3, 2025. Importantly, this bond proposal would not result in a tax rate increase for taxpayers. Projects will be funded through new valuations and growth within the district. BRHS band director David Terry celebrated 7 BRHS students that qualified for the Four States Honor Band clinic. The Four States Honor Band clinic and concert is a regional event hosted at Texas High School in Texarkana by the Four States Bandmasters Association. At tonight’s school board meeting BRMS UIL sponsor Mary Townsend celebrated the success that Blue Ridge Middle School had at the academic UIL competition this year. Ms. Townsend shared that over 75 students participated in an academic competition and they did an amazing job representing BRMS. Congratulations on your success Tigers! #BRISDpride #RaiseTheRidge
BRMS theatre teacher Willow Duncan celebrated the middle school one act play team at tonight’s school board meeting. Boys and girls basketball take on Bells tonight at home. Tonight is also BRASA Recognition night. Any student wearing their basketball jersey will get into the games for free and be recognized between the varsity girls and the varsity boys game. In observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Blue Ridge ISD will be closed on Monday, January 20, 2025. Classes resume on Tuesday, January 21st.
For the safety of our students, staff, and families, Blue Ridge ISD will be closed on Friday, January 10th. All high school basketball games for Friday have been canceled. We look forward to seeing everyone back on campus on Monday. Stay safe and warm!
Due to inclement weather conditions and the forecast of a wintry mix, precipitation, freezing temperatures, and the potential for hazardous road conditions, Blue Ridge ISD will be closed tomorrow, January 9th. This decision was made out of an abundance of caution and with the safety of our students and staff in mind. We will continue to monitor the weather for Friday and provide updates through our website, social media, news outlets, and email. Please note that all BRMS Basketball games for tomorrow have also been canceled.

As we prepare for colder weather, we want to remind you of Blue Ridge ISD's Winter Weather Protocols.
Our top priority is the safety of our students and staff. District officials will closely monitor weather conditions, consider road safety, wind temperatures, and other factors. Decisions about delays or closures are made with care and communicated through:

✅Facebook and Twitter
✅District-wide calls and emails
✅BRISD App
✅Notifications on major broadcast channels
We aim to make decisions by 5:30 AM to accommodate school transportation routes and family schedules. Our considerations include the safety of our buses, young student drivers, student walkers, and parents navigating the roads.
If there are no updates or communications, please assume school is operating on a normal schedule with regular bus routes and start times.
